A Currency ETF is an exchange traded fund that tracks the value and performance of a fiat currency or a group of currencies. They allow stock traders to participate in forex and the currency market through their stockbroker without needing a separate account for forex or futures. These ETFs usually hold currency futures contracts. Some of them implement currency trading strategies like focusing on currencies of commodity producing countries that tend to maintain their value better or a currency carry trade.
