- Italy continues to see a massive increase in coronavirus cases with 3,497 new infections and sadly 175 new deaths yesterday alone. Total Italy counts are 21,157 cases, 1,441 dead, with a 6.8% death rate.
- Spain declares nationwide lockdown due to the virus, closes all stores except groceries and pharmacies.
- France closes restaurants, cafes, movie theaters and other nonessential shops to fight the spread of the coronavirus.
- The U.S. confirmed coronavirus cases went from 500 to 3,000 last week as it continues to grow exponentially.
- Confirmed coronavirus cases in Iran increased to 14,000 last week with 724 deaths.
- Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu says that Israel will be shutting down all non-essential public places like cafes, restaurants, and movie theaters beginning on Sunday.
- The new XLF football league had a player test positive for the virus and the rest of their season has been cancelled like all other professional sports.
- Nike, Apple, Anthropologie, and Urban Outfitters are some of the retail chains closing down stores for a week or two with this threat of contagion. Apple is reopening their Chinese stores.
- There was a historic run on grocery stores last week with many selling out of toilet paper, hand sanitizer, cleaning products, and durable foods like pasta, beans, and peanut butter with many stores setting all time sales records. Amazon was also out of many of these items. Many grocery chains are now restricting operational hours and closing early.
- Taco Bell is preparing to go to drive-thru and delivery only during this outbreak.
- Mexico is considering closing its border to stop the spread of coronavirus into its country.
- African countries are starting to move to restrict European visitors during this pandemic.
