Someone on social media suddenly demanding to see a personal P&L to prove a trader is real is just silliness. Real world rules apply on social media. If a perfect stranger suddenly walked up to me and demanded to see my P&L to prove I was a trader I would think they were a nut, I feel the same way about this on social media. The successful traders on social media are not there to prove anything, I am certainly not going to go through the trouble to pull up all my personal accounts and give screen shots of returns to a perfect stranger. I can’t even do that for the longer term because I have changed brokers. If someone does not believe in a trader on social media unfollow and move on. We save our personal accounts for audits if we publish books and to pay our taxes to the IRS.
If a troll does not believe a particular trading style works for anyone and it is impossible to be profitable you can’t convince them otherwise, they will ignore all proof and continue on with their belief, their mind is already made up. Save your energy for more productive endeavors. Usually the belief stems from the fact that they could not do it profitably so they believe no one else can either. I am not on social media to convince anyone of anything just to let traders know that if you share my beliefs about what works in trading then you are not alone.
Generally the most ignorant on social media are the ones with the loudest and endless voices. Their confidence in being dogmatically right about what they believe generally stems from ignorance of a broad area of trading systems and styles. They will attack endlessly anyone that disagrees with them. They do not have intelligent debates about their beliefs they over flow with emotions not facts. Arguments with them are more like arguing with a five year old that it is time to go to bed.
Some of the most ignorant traders on social media travel in groups and packs. They will try to gang up and bully a real trader not even understanding basic concepts of trading like risk/reward, the 1% rule, reactive trading, or psychology. They start jokes over their own misunderstandings and then wonder why they are blocked. They are a sight to behold in action.
There are many failed traders wandering around on social media bitter after their own failure and all they can do to make themselves feel better is to try to tear others down. They project their own flaws onto others, thinking because they lie others lie, since they failed all others also failed, because they are a fake on social media others are fakes as well. Most of the time trolls that attack others are only projecting on you their beliefs about themselves.
